About Riccardo Spina

My work blends observation and creation. Photography is a mirror of reality. Using AI to alter that reality emphasizes the “artificial” in the remarkable power of AI technology. I’m using AI to "stretch" time, forcing the viewer to slow down and really look at the subjects. In the context of my work, it stands as a bridge between traditional imagery and modern digital media.

I have been captivated by the power of the lens for as long as I can remember. What began with my first camera as a teenager evolved into a lifelong professional pursuit, leading me to study at the Parsons School of Design in New York City. It was there I refined my technical skill and developed an appreciation for the narrative potential of a single image.
